Moving fluidly from afrobeat to latin, dub through Dilla into dance and then further into unbridled jazz improv, bohosapiens joyfully combine any ingredients necessary to get a room dancing. By fearlessly forging their own path through the most colourful musical landscapes towards an exhilarating destination, bohosapiens tap into a universal language that transcends the verbal and translates into an inimitable yet inclusive rhythmic and sonic experience.A project of passion for live performance and collaboration steered by MD and producer Norton Robey, bohosapiens represent the beating heart of human connection through music. Ever present in their work is the sentiment of belonging and oneness that we share as a united species on planet Earth, and a calling to draw upon that connection to share positivity and laughter with anyone and everyone regardless of race, gender, age, style or shoe size. Celebrating our differences in personality, nationality and culture is a cornerstone of their mantra, and their music is an open invitation to anyone who’s listening to disregard negativity and love openly.Based in the South West of England, they bring yet another flavour to a busy Bristol jazz scene alongside the likes of Ishmael Ensemble, Snazzback, Dundundun and Run Logan Run whilst being inspired by and referencing the wider UK modern Jazz powerhouses of Nubiyan Twist, Ezra Collective and Nubya Garcia.
